BDS Backup Drive

Reliable recovery starts with protected data.

An internal encrypted backup and disaster-recovery utility developed by Boyd Digital Studios to protect data for Disclosure Desk and Our Cinema. This is an information page about the utility—not a public backup service or an account sign-up.

Safeguarding continuity

How backups are designed to work

BDS Backup Drive is configured for the two products independently. It is being validated through staged testing before unattended scheduling is enabled.

01 / EXPORT

Separate project snapshots

Export database records and associated Storage files for each product using a private backup runner.

02 / PROTECT

Encrypt before upload

Package and encrypt archives locally on the runner before saving them to dedicated Google Drive folders. The decryption key is kept separately.

03 / VERIFY

Check and rehearse recovery

Compare archive integrity and test restoration in an isolated environment before enabling routine automation.

Google Drive integration

Why Google access is requested

The utility connects to a dedicated Google account authorised by Boyd Digital Studios. It uses Drive to create backup folders, upload encrypted archives, list stored backup files and verify uploads.

Permission scope: the current integration may request full Google Drive access to work with pre-existing folders. This is broader than access to those folders alone. Our software is configured to operate only in the designated backup destinations.

About the service

Built for two independent products

BDS Backup Drive is an internal Boyd Digital Studios system. Its information pages are hosted on a subdomain of Disclosure Desk because that is a domain operated by the same publisher; the backup utility also supports Our Cinema.
